Required Competitions
The three mandatory phases of competition are Interview, Fashion Runway, and Evening Gown. Learn more about each competition below.
INTERVIEW
40% of your overall score
The Interview Competition is designed to help contestants showcase their personality, confidence, communication skills, and poise in a comfortable and positive environment. Contestants will participate in a panel-style interview, standing in front of the judges as they answer questions about their interests, goals, accomplishments, family, school, hobbies, and community involvement. Questions will be based primarily on the contestant fact sheet completed prior to the pageant, allowing each contestant to discuss topics she knows best—herself! There are no political, religious, or textbook-style questions. This is simply an opportunity for the judges to get to know each contestant and what makes her unique. This phase of competition allows contestants to shine beyond the stage while demonstrating strong communication skills, authenticity, and self-confidence!
Pre-K, Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd Grade contestants will have a 2 minute interview.
3rd, 4th, and 5th Grade contestants will have a 3 minute interview.
Junior High, High School, and Collegiate contestants will have a 5 minute interview.
WHAT TO WEAR:
It is suggested that you wear a nice dress or jumpsuit. The goal is to present a neat, professional appearance while allowing your personality and individual style to shine.
