New for 2026! All contestants will have a local title they will represent at the State Pageant. On your Registration form you will put down your top 3 choices for your local title. You will be assigned one based on title availability. Local crown and sash is available for purchase but is OPTIONAL. Everybody will have a local title assigned to them. Title example: Miss Shenandoah 1st Grade

This year, we’re diving into a world of MERMAID MAGIC! We can't wait to see everyone channel their inner mermaid. Whether you’re a deep-sea diva or a coral queen, bring your shimmering scales, your mermaid tail, and ombre hair and come have a fin-tastic time with us. Let’s celebrate sisterhood under the sea with an unforgettable night of ocean glam and mystical vibes.

Walking Patterns
Opening Number
You will wear your fun fashion outfit for the opening number walking sequence and on-stage introduction. This will be at the beginning of sunday's pageant show.
The Opening Number dance will be sent out in advance to learn before pageant weekend. Dance will consist of simple moves and walking sequences. No dance experience is required. We will have designated Opening Number rehearsals during pageant weekend to practice.

MeET THE PAGEANT Staff

Sharon Ruben is a mom to three adult daughters. She is a graduate of Mary Washington College with a B.S. in Biology and obtained her M.S. in Biotechnology Management from the University of Maryland, University College. She worked in the Pharmaceutical Industry and NIH for many years in clinical trials developing protocols and new drugs to bring to market. Sharon is the author of the award winning book: "Awakening Ashley: Mozart Knocks Autism on its Ear", the story of her daughter, Ashley's full recovery from Autism using a revolutionary listening therapy that retrains the ears and brain to process sound better using modulated Mozart music. She has been on the Today Show with Katie Couric where her story was featured to let parents know they can go through the ears when treating Autism. Sharon is a breast cancer survivor of 21 years. And she is an advocate for the positive effects of pageantry, supporting and watching her youngest daughter, Sydney, blossom in public speaking, confidence, and interview skills for over 12 years. Sharon hopes to be instrumental in uplifting young women from around the state and helping them develop these life-long skills by being part of the sisterhood of the Miss Virginia Elementary, Jr. High, High School and Collegiate America Organization.

Sydney Spencer has been involved in pageantry for over 12 years, holding numerous local, state, and national titles with many prestigious organizations. Sydney graduated in 2023 from Christopher Newport University with her Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre. Currently, she works full-time as a professional actress, and can be seen in numerous commercials, short films, and ad campaigns for companies such as Busch Gardens, Giant Grocery Store, and Hair Cuttery, just to name a few.
